The Forest Years
17 April 2021 | 11:03 - 13:00
con Aneesha – A workshop for the over 50.
In the East, there is a tradition, a cultural understanding, which Osho has spoken of; that life has three major phases roughly based on age.
Phase one is the first 25 years when we receive our education and prepare for life in the marketplace. Phase two is age 25-50, when we marry, raise children, and make a living in the world to support the family. Phase three, the Forest Years, which we are looking at here, is age 50-75 and beyond. Here we begin to turn away from the world, towards the forest, towards meditation, teaching, praying, sharing with younger generations.
As we age we are faced with a whole new reality, our bodies are growing older, we don’t have the energy we once had, and our interests change. Many of us face this time with fear and confusion, and this workshop offers a safe space to bring these feelings out and share with others who are in the same boat.
We are also facing one of the most potential times in our lives, a time that can be filled with new creativity, a deeper understanding of our life’s meaning. What do you bring to your Forest Years? How can you live this time more fully?
